Before you start

Check Telnet is enabled on the switch. It is by default (ip telnet server enable).
Note a username and password for a switch user with admin (Privileged EXEC) access. If an enable password is set, add it as the enable_password tag.
For an M4350, set the port_prefix tag to 1/0/ so port numbers in commands match its unit/slot/port names.

Add the device

In the portal, go to Devices and select New device.
Choose the Collector that can reach the device, and set Protocol to NETGEAR M4250 / M4350.
Enter the settings below and save. The Collector picks up the new device within five minutes.

Commands

Each command is a button on the device page, and can be used in Room Readiness routines.

Port readings: each front-panel port reports its link state, speed, admin state and, on PoE models, its PoE status, class and power draw in watts. Readings are named by port number, such as Port 5 Link and Port 5 Poe Power W. On a non-PoE model the PoE readings are left out.

Faults: Faults lists failed fans or power supplies, temperature sensors outside their normal range, PoE port faults and a faulty PoE controller.

Commands change the running configuration only. PoE Reset power-cycles the device on a port, such as a touch panel or camera. PoE on/off and port enable/disable are not saved to the switch’s startup configuration, so rebooting the switch restores its saved settings. Reboot restarts the switch without saving unsaved changes.
